thank you! i am working on a graphic novel for future release, so that's actually quite awesome to hear.
not much story besides being inspired by a multiple exposure photograph. it sparked this idea about the refracted emotions and attitudes that reside within a person. i remember being in a sort of deep introspective moment in my life, so i wanted to imbue a sort of lonely, surreal feeling to the illustration. then i just let my hand take over from there :]
i believe it was from a photograph i glimpsed. it had 3 shapes, like a sort of refraction of light and shadows. it sparked this idea in me of different facets of the same person or being, incorporated with the grander aspect of the extremes see/hear/speak no evil. 3 different qualities or entities on completely different ends of the spectrum that combine to form the greater "one," which i believe are in every person.
...or, you know, something like that. thanks again!
I am... a white collar stiff for my family business. I realy wish I can say I have a good understanding about certain concepts and theories about art, but it's really just (mindless) trial and error, and a healthy use of color wheel tools on the net! Try fiddling with the Curves and Level tools in Photoshop - some color palettes I use are happy accidents.
ah, thanks so much! sorry for getting back so late, i've been out of touch.
i was really happy with this piece. and for finally finishing it! thanks again :]
sorry to hear about your art troubles, it was sad to see your gallery there no more. but you'll be back in top form, just keep crunching. it's hard to break out of a mold, especially one you're subconsciously used to, but just set your mind on it and draw, draw, draw. it's almost like breaking out of an art block.
i've been there myself, and sometimes i still find myself feeling like it's always the same thing. pick something extreme for you, something completely out of your "safe zone", and try your hand at it. and drink tall glasses of life drawing and inspiration, it does the body good, strengthens your bones and all that! godspeed on your journey!
